Squamous Cell carcinoma of vulva at younger age , is a very rare lesion mostly encountered in advanced years of life. Surgery treatment is unpalatable to the patient, when the patent is of younger age group. Such a case is presented here –Patient ‘L’ , aged 18 rears, para one presented with the complaint of gradually enlarging swelling over Labia minora since last five months. There was no history of pruritus Vulvae, contact or Syphilis. There was no family history of such a disease.Her menstrual cycle was normal with average flow and it was painless. She had full term normal delivery one and half years back., there was no history of abortion or pre mature delivery.
On General examination , nothing abnormal was detected ,except mild anaemia, no lymphadenopathy or Lymphoedema. He Fasting Sugar was 84 mg% , VDRL test was non reactive. On local examination a hypertrophic irregular growth measuring 2 x 1 cms. , was present on Labia minora with , which was bleeding on touch
Excisional Biopsy done in which whole of the Labia Minora along with the growth removed , as patient was deadly against Vulvectomy. Mean while with in a week the wound healed well.
Hysto pathological report showed well differentiated Squamous Cell carcinoma.Post operative radio therapy was planned and given, but un fortunately ,patient developed radiation reaction. The radio therapy was stopped.
On follow up clinical examination after Six months, did not reveal any sign of disease process.
